We are looking for a personal assistant to join a team of 7 dedicated assistants supporting a young man in his 40s with an acquired brain injury.

He lives centrally in Eskilstuna and receives assistance from his assistants around the clock. During the day and part of the evening, there are two assistants, while at other times and during the night, one assistant works alone.

The assistance includes help with all hygiene and personal care, assistance with transfers using a lift to and from a wheelchair. Tube feeding and some work with medical equipment such as inhalers, cough machines, and secretion mobilization are also part of the tasks.

Our member does not speak but understands and can communicate to some extent in other ways, such as through sign language and by pointing to cards.

The job includes all household tasks such as laundry and cleaning.

To be suitable as a personal assistant in this role, you need to be calm, attentive, empathetic, and responsible. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in assistance roles with healthcare interventions.

There is a cat in the home, so you must not be allergic.

We prefer that you have a healthcare education or extensive experience, but are open to new approaches and are flexible in actions and thinking to create the best assistance for our member.

The position is 94%, working on a rolling 4-week schedule with every other weekend. We appreciate flexibility and the ability to take on extra shifts occasionally.
