Support Educator/Behavioral Scientist

The LSS adult unit 8 operates four special accommodations within LSS. For the current operation Höjden, located in the Balsta area, we are now looking for a support educator/behavioral scientist. We work based on LSS and SoL decisions with a broad target group where we offer individual support in everyday life to people with various neuropsychiatric disabilities.

We create, based on an evidence-based approach, conditions, quality of life, and tools for our users to achieve a more independent life. The target group consists of users who need support in their daily lives where the work is characterized by collaboration, structure, and a shared responsibility for quality and development. The operation has a clear user focus where participation, independence, and respectful treatment are central starting points.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You provide individualized support in everyday life, plan, implement, and follow up on interventions, and establish individual action plans based on the individual's needs and wishes.

Working to strengthen the individual's social skills and sense of independence through a pedagogical and evidence-based approach as well as ADL training is a significant part of the work, which often takes place in the individual's home, making respect for the individual's integrity of great importance.

We work with contact person responsibility, which means that you will have extra responsibility for one to two individuals in the accommodation regarding the establishment and follow-up of the action plan together with the individual, collaboration with the contact network, etc.

As a Support Educator, in addition to the role of housing supporter, you have a guiding role. You support colleagues and contribute to a holistic view of the methodological work in the operation with the individual's needs at the center. You collaborate with internal and external actors. The position involves scheduled working hours with day, evening, and weekend work.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position, we are looking for someone who has completed a university degree in behavioral science, a YH education as a Support Educator, or other education that we assess as equivalent.

Regardless of educational level, you need to have at least one year of experience working with the target group from, for example, accommodation, outpatient care, or other similar operations. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and are used to using IT in your work.

Experience in care tasks and physical rehabilitation, such as movement training, is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have experience working with individuals with comorbidity and are used to collaborating with other actors. Furthermore, knowledge of and experience in motivational interviewing and low-arousal responses, as well as experience in meeting and managing outwardly aggressive behaviors, are also meritorious. Experience in working with action plans and documentation, as well as working in a guiding and supportive manner towards colleagues, is also considered meritorious.
