The Youth Support and Intervention unit is part of the Social Office that primarily works preventively with young people. The unit also carries out assignments related to the needs of young people through non-assistance-tested interventions and through assistance decisions. Our mission is to reduce drug use, decrease crime, increase school attendance, and improve the mental well-being of our youth in Strängnäs. The work requires us to work both with treatment interventions and long-term preventive efforts.

We are now looking for a coordinator for a summer internship assignment within the unit.

The summer internship targets young people aged 16 to 18, and for many, it is a first glimpse into working life. A summer internship can inspire young people to choose a profession in the future!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a coordinator responsible for the summer internship, you will plan, implement, follow up, and develop the summer internship in Strängnäs municipality. You will be responsible for contact with workplaces that receive summer interns, both municipal and civil society. Furthermore, administration related to communication, establishing employment contracts, evaluation, and reporting to politics and management is included.

You will, among other things:

• be responsible for contracts, train supervisors, manage routines for, for example, attendance management, etc.
• market the summer internship in various internal and external channels and during school visits and job fairs. You will have a support system, so it is important that you are comfortable in digital environments.
• be responsible for applying for external funds, evaluation and follow-up, as well as reporting both the operations and external financing.
• execute certain assistance cases and legal consequences, which involves contacts with authorities, employers, and young people.
• represent Strängnäs municipality and the summer internship. You handle media and are the face of the project as there is media interest in this.

We also offer summer internships in collaboration with Rookie Startups, with whom you will be the contact person and have close cooperation.

You will have close contact with your colleagues in Youth Support and Intervention and be part of a group of coordinators with different assignments. You will be alone in your role as coordinator for the summer internship, which requires a good ability to work independently and in a team.

In the role, you will also assist with the unit's other assignments, which means you need to be flexible and able to adapt quickly when the situation requires it. Administrative tasks related to the unit will occur in the position, where systematic follow-up, survey management, and administrative documents such as reports and materials for various actors are your responsibility. Some planning for the unit's overall work is also included. This places high demands on your ability to express yourself well in writing, and you need to be skilled in the Office suite and other systems related to the assignment.

The position offers great opportunities to contribute to development both in the assignment and for the organization as a whole. You will also be trained in, for example, violence prevention to contribute to the overall preventive work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has/is:

• a university degree as a social worker, behavioral scientist, study and career counselor, political scientist with a focus on psychology, or another degree that the employer finds relevant for the assignment
• documented experience of driving your own assignments and projects based on guidelines and assignments and following up, evaluating, and developing them.
• administrative competence and good computer skills in the Office suite.
• good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing.
• experience in communication efforts, such as developing messages/content both digitally in social media and in printed form.
• experience in conducting and presenting results measurements.
• documented experience in guiding young people.
• a valid driver's license (B).

You must also feel comfortable in media contexts as you will represent the summer internship and Strängnäs municipality, for example, in live radio and in the press.

It is meritorious if you have:

• worked with summer internships before.
• worked in the matcha.nu system.
• experience in executing youth service.
• knowledge of Rookie Startups.
• worked with civil society actors based on social sustainability.
• experience working with young people with special needs.
• experience in documentation, statistical work, impact measurements, and analytical work within social work.
• experience with the documentation system Treserva.
• training in MVP, mentors in violence prevention.
