Södra Älvsborg Hospital is making long-term investments and focusing on the development of modern psychiatry in new facilities in the Psychiatry Quarter!

The area of psychiatry includes operations within adult psychiatry (VUP) and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP).

About us

BUP Borås provides care to children and adolescents under 18 years old with severe mental health issues such as depression, severe anxiety, impulsivity, and disruptive behavior, social interaction difficulties, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders. The clinic assesses, evaluates, and treats children and adolescents living in Borås, Bollebygd, Ulricehamn, and Tranemo. We collaborate with pediatric clinics, social services, schools, and several other partners in the field.

At our clinic, we have doctors, psychologists, nurses, social workers, special educators, dietitians, mental health workers, medical secretaries, and a unit manager. Patients who come to our clinic should feel very welcomed by careful and knowledgeable staff. Development work is a shared responsibility. We aim to continuously improve our working methods and strategies to effectively and optimally assist our patients. To succeed, we see our work environment as a fundamental prerequisite where we should thrive together in our team and actively promote a good team spirit.

We offer supervision, regular professional meetings, and opportunities for professional development. It is important for us to facilitate the balance between work, leisure, and family life. Therefore, we offer flexible hours and the possibility to work some time from home. The workplace is located in Borås. There are good bus connections with Gothenburg and Borås, with the bus stopping right at Södra Älvsborg Hospital.

About our job vacancy

As a nurse at the BUP clinic in Borås, you will work with all patient groups. Your tasks will include medical and nursing assessments and treatments. You will work with individual conversations and group treatments, as well as follow-ups on medication treatments. You will develop collaboration and have a good knowledge of implementing safe and effective discharges. You will work health-promoting and person-centered. Together with the patient and their family, you will create good conditions for effective planning, which is documented in the care plan.

Professional development

As a nurse at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, you have excellent opportunities for professional development. We use a career development model for nurses and create a plan based on your current level of competence. We offer mentorship and supervision for all employees.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has a Swedish nursing license and experience in the profession. You have a strong interest in child and adolescent psychiatry. Experience in psychiatric inpatient care and specialist training in psychiatric care is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, good collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently and be solution-oriented. We also hope that you are a positive and flexible person. You are not afraid of challenges and are committed to providing good care and working on the development of patient care.
