Job Responsibilities

You will work with issues related to preparedness, risk management, emergency services, and accident protection. A recurring part of this work is to review comprehensive plans and detailed plans together with colleagues at the County Administrative Board. Your focus here is on life, health, and safety. The work is analytical in nature and includes both large and small projects. You will collaborate with municipal, regional, and national actors in areas such as:

• dams preparedness
• hazardous activities
• work with emergency services and emergency services during heightened preparedness
• preparedness issues.

Another important part of the job is to identify development needs and coordinate or participate in planning and the development of plans in areas such as preparedness, emergency services, or protection of the civilian population.

You will be part of the County Administrative Board's preparedness organization.

About the Workplace

In the unit, more than ten people of various ages and backgrounds work with a wide range of tasks within community protection and preparedness. The County Administrative Board has geographical area responsibility for the county and a coordination responsibility to prevent, manage, and follow up on societal disturbances. We care about everyone feeling good and have a strong cohesion in the group.

Qualifications

In this position, it is important that you have:

• experience in risk management within community planning, crisis preparedness, civil defense, or accident protection
• relevant academic education or equivalent work experience
• a B driver's license.

We also prefer that you have:

• education with a focus on fire engineering or risk engineering
• education in crisis preparedness or total defense
• experience working at a government agency
• experience in coordination or leading projects, assignments, or processes.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is a humble team player with good self-awareness. Since collaboration is an important part of this position, we also see that you create good relationships outside the group. We offer an independent role, which requires structure and that you choose your approach. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. Good judgment and sometimes a degree of endurance are also important, as a large part of the position involves analysis, process management, and working with complex long-term issues. Job tasks may vary and change based on national directives.
