Job Responsibilities

You will work with issues related to crisis preparedness and total defense. Your tasks will include contributing to the development of the County Administrative Board's work with preparedness plans before, during, and after heightened readiness. The work is analytical in nature and involves both large and small projects. You will participate in and develop collaboration in the county. Examples of your main tasks include:

• participating in and developing the county's regional collaboration U-Sam
• developing preparedness plans for crisis preparedness and total defense
• participating in exercises and training.

You will be part of the County Administrative Board's preparedness organization.

About the Workplace

Our unit consists of over ten people of various ages and backgrounds, working on a wide range of tasks within community protection and preparedness. The County Administrative Board has geographical area responsibility for the county and a coordination responsibility for preventing, managing, and following up on societal disturbances. We care about everyone feeling comfortable and have a good cohesion in the group.

Qualifications

In this position, it is important that you have:

• experience in crisis preparedness, civil defense, or accident prevention
• relevant academic education or equivalent work experience
• experience in collaborating with and coordinating tasks involving multiple authorities and private actors
• a B driver's license.

We would also like you to have:

• experience working with both local, regional, and national levels
• education in crisis and conflict management, crisis preparedness, total defense, leadership, project or process management
• previous experience working at a government agency.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is a humble team player with good self-awareness. Since collaboration is an important part of this position, we also see that you have the ability to create good relationships. We offer an independent role, which requires structure and that you choose your approach. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. Good judgment and sometimes a degree of perseverance are also important, as a significant part of the job involves analysis, process management, and working with complex long-term issues. Job tasks may vary and change based on national directives.
