Product Manager for the Swedish Pensions Agency's Digital Workplace

Do you want to take strategic responsibility for the Swedish Pensions Agency's digital workplace used by thousands of employees – while also contributing to real societal benefit?

The Swedish Pensions Agency is now looking for an initiative-taking Product Manager for the agile train Stambanan.

In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the digital workplace and lead the development from vision to functioning everyday life. You will do this with a clear focus on user needs, security, and the agency's goals.

At the IT department, we have about 350 employees, and our socially important mission means we need to grow. As part of our IT department, you will work in a developing environment, focusing on employee engagement and new ideas. We also put a lot of energy into creating an inclusive culture with a focus on equality and sustainable employees. We believe that different perspectives and experiences make us better!

About the Job

As a Product Manager in Stambanan, you play a key role in leading and developing the Swedish Pensions Agency's digital workplace. You drive and bring to life the product area's vision, goals, and roadmap, with clear priorities that ensure development creates real business and customer value – from strategy to delivery.

You are responsible for developing a coherent, secure, and user-friendly digital workplace – from clients and mobile devices to email, collaboration platforms, and intranet. Everything is done with the agency's needs at the center and with consideration of the laws and regulations that apply to us as a government agency.

Your everyday life is characterized by collaboration. You work closely with the Business Owner, collaborate with the RTE and train architect in the train management, and work together with product owners in product management. Together, you create the conditions for delivering the right value efficiently.

You will be part of an organization with a strong agile mindset, where you are a key player in further developing product management. We are inspired by SAFe but always adapt our working methods to our needs. Stambanan consists of about 30 employees distributed across four development teams. Organizationally, you belong to the agency's shared IT unit and are part of a group that gathers leading roles within the unit.

In the selection, we will place great importance on your personal qualities.

We are looking for someone with the following experience and competencies:

  • Relevant academic education or relevant work experience that the employer assesses has provided equivalent competence
  • At least 2 years of experience in the role of Product Manager, Product Owner, or Epic Owner (preferably SAFe or scaled agile methods)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leading role in technical projects/collaborations with several cross-functional teams
  • Experience in driving development in the area of IT workplace
  • Experience in structured work with gathering customer needs
  • Experience in working with measurable values, goal images, and follow-up
  • Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, and the ability to explain complex issues clearly and accessibly

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Education/certification as a Product Manager or Product Owner
  • Experience in defining and delivering technical services, for example in the role of service manager or similar
  • Experience with the Public Procurement Act (LOU), procurement, and supplier management
  • Experience with planning, case management, and collaboration tools such as Atlassian's product suite (Jira, JSM, Confluence)
  • Experience in change management, where you have supported leaders/colleagues/teams in developing working methods and creating a common direction
  • Experience in public operations, especially working in structured and regulated environments

Good to Know

The position is a permanent full-time employment, and we apply a 6-month probationary period.

The employment may be placed in a security class.
