Frontend Developer with Interest in Python

About the Position

In the role of frontend developer with an interest in Python, you will primarily be responsible for developing and further developing internal applications for the analysis of power systems and the electricity market. The systems handle large amounts of data and are used for planning the Swedish transmission grid in the short and long term. The work takes place in a cross-functional agile team and in an environment with high security requirements, where we mainly work with on-prem solutions.

The position will include:

• Developing and further developing applications in React and Python
• Contributing to architecture, design, and technical choices within given security frameworks
• Working fullstack with a focus on frontend, and backend as needed
• Writing and executing tests to ensure quality and stability
• Handling incidents and participating in operations and stabilization work
• Configuring and maintaining CI/CD flows in Azure DevOps Server and GitLab
• Creating and updating system documentation, such as technical documentation, architecture descriptions, and user support

You will have the opportunity to develop within system development in complex and security-classified environments, work with modern tools such as React, Python, and container technology, and contribute to the building of new systems where architecture and technology choices are still being shaped. Together with your unit manager, you will plan your skills development and have access to both internal and external training resources. You will also exchange experiences with colleagues who have extensive experience in IT and power system analysis.

About You

Requirements:

We are looking for someone with an analytical approach who can understand complex problems related to large data sets and technical limitations. You work result-oriented and take responsibility for driving your tasks forward. To thrive in the role, we see that you are collaborative and enjoy being part of a cross-functional team where dialogue with colleagues and users is a natural part of the work. You also need to be creative and able to find solutions within given security and architectural frameworks.

You should also adhere to the government’s value base. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Furthermore, you have a degree of at least 180 credits in computer science, IT, or engineering education, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that Svenska kraftnät assesses as equivalent.

You also have several years of work experience in:

• Frontend development with modern languages and frameworks, such as React, Angular, Next.js, or similar, and an interest in working with React.
• Agile methodologies
• CI/CD and DevOps environments with tools such as Azure DevOps Server, GitLab, and/or GitHub
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

We consider it an advantage if you have work experience in:

• Backend development in Python
• Python libraries for data analysis such as Pandas
• Test automation or configuration of CI/CD pipelines
• System development of applications that support data analysis, network calculation programs, or other power system analysis
• Projects where ISO 27001 has been applied
• Container technology, such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
• System development within the power system sector, or work in a critical and security-sensitive authority
