We are in the midst of an exciting journey where AI becomes a central part of our development and where data is, and will be, one of our most important assets. We are now looking for our first two AI engineers or Data Scientists with a strong development background to help build the agency's capabilities around AI and data from the ground up.

With us, you will be a pioneer with great opportunities to influence technology choices, tools, and strategies for how we use data and AI to create value. The role will be crucial for how we create sustainable, secure, and independent AI development.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of AI Engineer, you will:

• Establish the technical foundation for our AI capabilities: environments, tools, and architecture
• Design and implement workflows for how we realize, manage, and scale AI solutions
• Develop working methods, standards, templates, and documentation
• Explore and test AI models and frameworks to evaluate how they can be implemented/integrated into operations in a safe and sustainable manner.
• Be involved in the entire AI lifecycle – from idea and pilot to production and management
• Collaborate with various expert competencies internally (legal, information and IT security) and external technology providers
• Work closely with the business to translate their needs into data-driven solutions.
• Act as a technical advisor in AI-related matters

Your Competence

Requirements for Employment

• Relevant post-secondary education, e.g., university or college education, or equivalent experience.
• Several years of experience in the role of AI Engineer or equivalent with a strong development background
• Practical experience of taking solutions all the way from development and implementation to production and operation.
• Good knowledge of Python and common AI/ML frameworks
• Understanding of architecture, platforms, and open-source solutions related to AI
• Experience working within given legal and security frameworks and able to adopt a holistic perspective
• Experience working with hybrid platforms
• Ability to lead and coach others and establish working methods and strategies.
• Experience collaborating with external/outsourced development teams

Meritorious

• Knowledge of data governance, ethics, and regulations
• Experience in UX/customer experience to create user-friendly AI solutions
• Understanding of security aspects and requirements for authority in a government environment
• Experience working in a larger, complex organization or public sector
• Experience establishing a development function or working in an organization under construction

About the Employment

The employment is a permanent full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period. The position is located in Stockholm or Östersund. Start date as soon as possible by agreement. We apply individual salary setting.
