Senior Product Development Engineer – Take full responsibility and build the future of automotive lighting

About the position

Do you want to own the product development from sketch to launch and eventually lead the entire R&D effort?

Ledson Lights in Åstorp is now looking for a senior product development engineer with CAD skills, strong business acumen, and a clear drive for innovation. This is a key role in the company's continued growth journey – and an opportunity for you to combine technology, design, and business in one position.

You will work on projects throughout the entire development chain – from idea and concept to finished product on the market. At the same time, you will play a central role in further developing working methods within construction and driving a more systematic and future-proof product development process.

Ledson Lights collaborates with highly skilled production and development partners in Europe and Asia, with expertise in construction, electronics, and optics. The role involves close and direct dialogue with these partners, and visits to them are a natural part of the job.

With this recruitment, the R&D team will expand to four people. You will be part of a growing team and report to the head of purchasing and product development.

The role offers a clear development path where you will gradually take over the management responsibility for R&D. This is the position for you who want to make a real impact.

Your main responsibilities

• Drive product development projects from idea to launch

• Work with 3D modeling and construction

• Ensure that products are functional, cost-effective, and aesthetically pleasing

• Develop and analyze product calculations and make business-related trade-offs

• Have direct contact with suppliers and drive both technical and commercial dialogues

• Collaborate closely with purchasing, sales, and marketing

• Further develop the company's skills and processes within 3D-CAD and product development

• Gradually take over management responsibility for R&D

Who are you?

You are a senior generalist in construction with several years of experience in product development. You are confident in your skills, used to taking responsibility, and motivated by seeing your ideas come to life. You likely have worked in the automotive industry or related technology areas where innovation, functionality, and design go hand in hand. You have a genuine interest in vehicles, technology, and design – and are driven to create products that both perform and stand out.

Who we believe you are:

• Have very good skills in CAD and 3D modeling

• Have experience in structured and systematic product development work

• Preferably also have understanding and knowledge of automotive electronics

• Are used to managing several projects simultaneously without losing quality or pace

• Have leadership experience and want to take on greater strategic responsibility

• Are business-minded and understand the connection between technology, cost, and customer value

• Are communicative, clear, and confident in dialogue with both internal and external parties

• Are curious – about people, technology, and new solutions

• Thrive in a smaller, engaged team where collaboration and challenging each other is the norm

• Master Swedish and English fluently in both speech and writing
