We are now looking for a senior consultant in portfolio management and PMO for a strategic and operational consulting assignment with a client. The assignment focuses on startup, change management, and stabilization of a newly established function – serving as a bridge to long-term staffing.

This is a specialist role where you will combine structure, change power, and operational execution in a complex hybrid delivery environment.

You will step into an operational and change-driving role within portfolio management and delivery support. The assignment involves establishing a supportive and orchestrating PMO approach – not controlling – that creates better decision-making grounds, clearer priorities, and enhanced execution capability.

You will act as a bridge between the business, IT, and management, helping to lay the foundation for a long-term value-creating portfolio management.

You will, among other things:

• Establish and coordinate a functioning portfolio overview within IT and digitalization

• Develop relevant and visual decision-making materials for steering and management forums

• Set structures, working methods, and forums that create transparency and consensus

• Conduct current state analyses and identify areas for improvement

• Develop templates, reporting formats, and routines within the portfolio and PMO area

• Establish follow-up focusing on value realization and actual impact

• Act as a change leader during the introduction of new working methods

• Provide operational support to portfolio managers, program, and project managers

We are looking for someone who has:

• At least 5 years of documented experience in building and/or developing portfolio management functions or PMO, including work in establishment or change phases

• At least 5 years of experience in business development of processes, structures, and working methods (including gap analysis and target work)

• Documented experience in current state analysis of portfolio structure, processes, and reporting in at least two assignments

• Experience in establishing and improving working methods, templates, and reporting within the portfolio and PMO area in at least two organizations

• Experience in a leading role in larger change initiatives related to portfolio management, PMO, or governance model implementation within IT/digitalization

• Experience from at least two assignments where you have developed portfolio management and/or PMO including the development of target images and future structures

• Documented experience in producing portfolio overviews, reports, and decision-making materials for the management group

It is desirable if you have:

• Experience in prioritization, replanning, and resource balancing at the portfolio level

• Experience in establishing governance models in a hybrid delivery model (agile combined with traditional project model)

• Experience in establishing and driving value realization related to IT and digitalization initiatives

• Experience in portfolio management or PMO within public operations

• Experience in knowledge transfer and stable handover to line organization

The assignment is located in Stockholm. The work allows for a combination of remote work and on-site work with the client, according to agreement and the needs of the operation.

Equipment will be provided by the client.

Start: 2026-03-17 End: 2026-12-31

Extension option: 1 + 1 year

Scope: 40 hours per week
