Specialist Physician for Research and Development Assignment on Cancer in Primary Care
Akademiskt primärvårdscentrum (APC) has an overarching research, education, and development mission for primary care in the Stockholm region. APC and the three university health centers Jakobsberg, Gustavsberg, and Liljeholmen constitute the primary care university hospital unit (USV) and are an important part of the new organization for knowledge management nationally and regionally. The operation is based on a network organization where the majority of our employees have their primary employment in clinical primary care. Stockholm County Health Care Area, SLSO, is the principal but APC's operations are conducted independently of the form of operation throughout the Stockholm region.
We are looking for a specialist physician in general medicine for a regional training and development assignment in cancer in primary care (CaPrim).
Akademiskt primärvårdscentrum (APC) is seeking a specialist physician in general medicine for a part-time assignment within Cancer in Primary Care (CaPrim).
The assignment is part of APC's regional training and development mission and covers primary care in the Stockholm region.
Cancer in primary care is a prioritized development area. Through CaPrim, methods, knowledge support, and training initiatives are developed with the aim of improving early detection, strengthening management, and contributing to high quality in primary care's cancer work. The work is conducted in line with regional knowledge management and in close collaboration with the Regional Cancer Center Stockholm Gotland. About the Assignment
The assignment encompasses 40–60 percent and is combined with continued clinical work. You will retain your primary employment in healthcare.
As a physician within CaPrim, you will be part of a regional training team at APC. The work is close to operations and is based on the mission and conditions of primary care throughout the region.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Developing and conducting training and educational initiatives for primary care staff
- Contributing to knowledge dissemination regarding early detection and management of cancer
- Participating in the development of methods and processes related to primary care's cancer work
- Collaborating with the Regional Cancer Center and other regional actors
There is also an opportunity to work as a process leader for primary care within the Regional Cancer Center Stockholm Gotland. This role involves representing the perspective of primary care in the regional cancer work, contributing to the development of care processes, and participating in the updating of cancer-related documents on VISS.

We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Is a licensed physician with specialist competence in general medicine employed in primary care
- Has good communication skills in Swedish and English
- Is computer literate
- Has an interest in continuing education, healthcare development, and systematic quality work
Experience in research, knowledge management, or educational work is an advantage.
We are looking for a colleague who is confident in their professional role, structured, and accustomed to working in teams. The assignment requires the ability to take responsibility for regional development work and to work long-term on improving care processes.

- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment medical examination, according to applicable directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
- In addition to Swedish professional licensing, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
