Make a difference. Every day.

Do you want to work in a department where you are heard, seen, and where your skills are valued? Is an empathetic approach and focus on the patient a given for you? Then you should not hesitate to apply to us at the Intensive Care and Postoperative Department (IPV) today! At our workplace, we work according to Region Skåne's Competence and Service Model (KTM), which provides a clear structure for your learning and career opportunities within our organization.

The hospital in Ystad is an emergency hospital with a wide range of specialized care. It is a smaller hospital with a family-like atmosphere and good opportunities for participation. We offer healthcare with quality and accessibility, a holistic view, and care as hallmarks. IPV in Ystad currently has three intensive care beds, two intermediate care beds, and postoperative care beds that are staffed around the clock. In the recovery department, there are also ten monitoring beds from Monday to Friday, where both children and adults are cared for.

- What is unique about us is that we are a smaller hospital, but we do a lot that gives us broad competence. We have a strong community, and we get to know the staff in other departments as we also have close cooperation. I have not experienced this before in larger hospitals, says intensive care nurse Ted.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a specialist nurse in advanced phase, you deepen your skills in intensive care and contribute to the development of nursing and manage the care situations that arise. You are a role model in the unit regarding professional approach and interaction. Your competence is further developed by working person-centered, with well-founded experiential and evidence-based knowledge, independently and in consultation with the patient, relatives, and care team. In the team, you have a leading and driving role and work to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and analyze the care of all intensive care patients, regardless of the timing in the care process, as well as managing complex care situations independently.

In addition to working with regular clinical tasks, you may also work with some of the following responsibilities: acute external assignments such as trauma alarms, Mobile Intensive Care Group, or alarm activities relevant to the unit, mentoring specialist nursing students and newly hired specialist nurses. You work in a multidisciplinary team where you have nursing responsibility for assessing and managing the critically ill patient. Furthermore, you have the readiness to act independently and manage complex care situations even outside the intensive care unit.

For mentors of specialist nursing students and newly hired colleagues, it means an extended responsibility to guide students at an advanced level. In your role, you manage the pedagogical model relevant to the department and contribute to the development of the mentorship role in consultation with the clinical teacher. You provide individualized guidance based on students' needs, abilities, and situations. Furthermore, you also introduce newly hired staff and act as a mentor to colleagues. You master various forms of reflection and provide constructive feedback.

We value the work environment and have organized the unit so that you have a great influence and high participation. It is a given for us that employees have the opportunity to actively engage in the department's development! It is important that you, just like us, are engaged in your profession and want to contribute to maintaining our good quality of care.

Every week we also have competence-enhancing lectures in the unit. We use working hours with a quota model, where you have the opportunity to influence your schedule and time for recovery.
