We are a stable and well-functioning unit with 10,500 listed residents, operating in an area with a unique combination of multicultural urban life and Skåne countryside. At the medical clinic, there are six (soon to be eight) specialists in general medicine and six training physicians (four residents, two interns). Would you like to be the physician who complements our team?

We are a multifaceted operation with clinics for district nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, dietitians, and occupational therapists. There are specialized nurse-led clinics for asthma/COPD, diabetes, heart failure, cognitive impairment, and targeted health talks. There is also a well-developed rehabilitation coordinator function at 100%, elderly care clinic, lifestyle clinic, and a mobile care team. In telephone counseling and primary care triage, the initial care is smoothly handled by nurses with support from physicians, physiotherapists, and nursing assistants. In the waiting room, there is an interpreter and a service host.

Competence development is important to us, and we are open to trying new working methods. The operation develops dynamically in a fine collaboration between employees and managers. Collegial dialogue is prioritized with regular physician meetings. Supervision and educational issues are close to our hearts, and we have undergone a SPUR inspection with the best results. Other in-depth assignments such as participation in knowledge management and regional assignments occur to a high extent.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as a resident physician in general medicine includes, among other things:

• assessment and treatment of patients of all ages with all kinds of health problems that do not require resources within specialized healthcare,
• teamwork in rehabilitation issues and chronic medical conditions,
• a limited list responsibility with the opportunity to follow your patients over time,
• study time every week,
• allocated time for supervision every week,
• participation in resident days and other competency development that you and/or the unit may need.

As a resident physician, you will follow your residency plan, and we offer a supportive educational climate on your path to specialist physician competence. In addition to mandatory residency courses and participation in resident days, you will have good development opportunities with continuous further education, both internally and externally based on your interests and the needs of the operation.

Administrative time is allocated, and you can influence how you want to structure your schedule regarding this. The goal is to minimize administration as much as possible for the physicians in the unit. At the same time, we expect you to be involved in improvement work and operational development.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the position, you must be a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you must have language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale.
