Psychologist at SiS Youth Home Hässleholm
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Hässleholm is a locked institution with four treatment departments, two departments for reception and needs assessment (MBB), and an open TFCO unit. We primarily receive school-age boys but also girls, who are involved in ongoing criminal activities and, in some cases, substance abuse.
Job Description
As a psychologist at SiS Youth Home Hässleholm, you belong to the institution's quality unit, which consists of psychologists, nurses, treatment secretaries, family and network therapists, quality coordinators, and the quality manager. Here, the psychologist has an institution-wide employment, which means that duties across all operational areas may be relevant.
The position is primarily directed towards the TFCO/aftercare team at the institution, which also has reception facilities in central Lund. The team consists of therapists (psychologists/social workers and skill trainers) who work with a manual-driven evidence-based treatment program aimed at adolescents with serious behavioral problems and their families. The young people are placed in specially qualified treatment families, and treatment is conducted in open forms. The tasks involve providing therapeutic interventions to the placed youth and their families, coordinating efforts in close collaboration with social services and schools, and providing guidance to the treatment families. Work is done in teams where members alternate in various assignments and roles within the team.
Other common tasks may include intake interviews, investigative work, risk and needs assessments, report writing, and internal collaboration with other professionals such as unit managers, treatment staff, principals, and teachers, as well as consultation and training for staff in areas such as suicide prevention and trauma-informed care (TMO).
The tasks are varied with a great opportunity to structure and prioritize your work independently.
Working hours are daytime with the possibility of flexibility, but it also requires that during periods when assignments require it, you are available to work until 7:00 PM one day a week. You will be based at SiS Youth Home Hässleholm or from our reception facilities in central Lund. Home and school visits are common in the position.
Some on-call duties are included.
