Job Responsibilities

Now there is an opportunity for you as a licensed psychologist to work within Skolfam in Malmö.

Skolfam is a school initiative within foster care that employs a preventive working model aimed at strengthening the school results for children placed in foster care. For more information about the working model, see: www.skolfam.se (http://www.skolfam.se).

The assignment in Skolfam involves working together with social workers, foster parents, and school staff to make the school attendance of children in foster care as successful as possible. Together with a special educator in Skolfam, you will map the resources, educational skills, and mental health of the children placed in foster care. The team's overall assessment will then be used as a basis to identify the child's strengths and any support needs. The child's development will be followed up at regular meetings where the team, which also includes the child's and foster family's social workers, the school, and the foster family, participates. The follow-up continues throughout the child's entire primary school period.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with knowledge and experience in educational psychology and developmental psychology. You should be well acquainted with testing children and able to use the results as a basis for positive change work. You must have a good ability to interpret, summarize, and communicate the results of an investigation, both in writing and verbally. Skolfam emphasizes the individual's potential for development, both in terms of interaction and learning, and your approach should primarily focus on seeking and communicating strengths and resources in the child.

The following experiences/knowledge are meritorious:

  • Experience working in preschool
  • Providing consultations and supervision
  • Working in a school environment
  • Leading network meetings
  • Collaboration between school and social services
  • Trauma psychology

To thrive in this position, you should be motivated to work with preventive measures and long-term goals in line with the manual and systematic approach that characterizes Skolfam. You should also have an interest in development work. As a person, you are structured and self-driven, which means you have a good ability to plan your own work, have your own drive, and organize and prioritize your activities independently while meeting deadlines. The work also requires a flexibility that means you can easily adapt to changing circumstances.

Since the work in Skolfam is team-based and there are several external partners in your work, it is crucial that you have both good collaboration skills and a strong ability to build relationships. This includes both your immediate colleagues and other professional categories in your work and external partners you meet in your work. Since your contact points in the position are many, it is also important that you can communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. A driver's license (B) is a requirement, and you should be prepared to travel/driving quite a bit within and sometimes outside Skåne.
