Do you want to influence our environment in Stockholm County?
We are looking for someone interested in working with the supervision of environmentally hazardous activities, such as landfills, waste and incineration facilities, and quarries.

What does the role include?
As a supervisory officer, you will be part of a knowledgeable team that works with supervision and follow-up of environmentally hazardous activities. You will work with supervision of facilities that require permits, with a particular focus on waste operations, but also other activities. The work is based on the Environmental Code and involves checking that operators comply with laws, permits, and decisions.
The role also includes, among other things:
- processing notifications of changes to environmentally hazardous activities,
- handling complaints and operational disturbances,
- providing supervisory guidance,
- contributing to internal development work,
- managing exemptions in the waste area.
You will also work with other tasks and projects within the environmental department.
Are you the one we are looking for?
For this role, we want you to have:
- a university degree of at least three years in environmental science, environmental health, or similar,
- at least three years of experience in regulatory authority and supervision of environmentally hazardous activities,
- knowledge of and experience in applying the Environmental Code and its regulations,
- very good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish,
- a valid driver's license, class B.
As a person, you are efficient and results-oriented. You are confident in yourself and in your professional role, and you enjoy working both independently and in a team, and you are keen to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally.
Furthermore, you have a good ability to independently analyze, organize, and prioritize your tasks based on given frameworks and guidelines. You are attentive and proactive with the aim of developing in your professional role and advancing the organization.

More about us and the role
The position is permanent, full-time, and based in Stockholm. Start date is according to agreement. We generally apply a six-month probationary period.
You will be placed in the Environmental Department with 120 employees and the Environmental Protection Unit, which is one of six units with 25 employees. The Environmental Protection Unit has a broad mandate that includes supervision and assessment.
