Financial Controller at the Riksbank

WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US

As a financial controller, you will play a key role in ensuring effective financial management of our resources. You will analyze and monitor financial data, prepare budgets and forecasts together with the business, and conduct cost analyses to create clarity and good decision-making support. You will also be involved in year-end closing work and reporting. You will work closely with other departments by supporting and simultaneously challenging them, and you will participate in the work of developing and improving the Riksbank's financial management and operational planning.

You will work to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency, both operationally and strategically, which means you can influence the future development of the organization. The role provides ample room for responsibility and personal initiative, and we are looking for someone who thrives on driving improvement in an organization that contributes to societal benefit.

YOUR TEAM

The Riksbank consists of nine departments. The Economics Unit is part of the Department for Internal Governance and Operational Support and currently consists of ten people. We are looking for someone who thrives in a development-oriented environment, where you are expected to take personal responsibility and drive your own initiatives, turning ideas into action. To be the right person for the job, we see that you:

• Have relevant academic education or other training/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Have at least five years of experience working as a controller, with similar tasks and responsibilities.
• Have experience and knowledge in accounting and a good understanding of economic relationships.
• Have strong analytical skills and can turn numbers into insights.
• Are used to taking responsibility and driving issues forward.

It is an advantage if you:

• Have experience in driving improvement work through automation and digital transformation
• Have experience in processing data programmatically with Python or similar languages
• Have basic knowledge of SQL
• Have an interest in working with scheduling and/or orchestration tools for automation

As a person, you are change-oriented and proactive. You are meticulous, have good analytical skills and a holistic view. Furthermore, you have strong communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with different parts of the organization. You are also solution-focused and action-oriented. You enjoy collaboration but can work independently when required. The work may involve international contacts, so it is important to be comfortable speaking and writing in English.

Start date: By agreement
Employment type: Permanent position, probationary period may apply
Location: Office in central Stockholm
Working hours: Trust-based working hours
Possibility to work remotely: 1 or 2 days a week if the business allows

The position may be classified in a security class, and a security screening including background checks, security interview, and special personal investigation will be conducted for the final candidate. For certain positions, Swedish citizenship is required.
