Our Operations

Since March 1, 2022, eye diseases have been part of the neuroscience department at Uppsala University Hospital. In our section, we offer highly specialized eye care with a focus on both diagnostics and treatment. The operations include an inpatient department, an outpatient unit, and an operating department that handles day surgery and central operations. Here, we treat both acute and chronic eye diseases and injuries, including congenital and acquired conditions.

We are now looking for two dedicated resident doctors for our eye disease section. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic work environment focused on development and patient care of the highest quality.

Your Mission

As a resident doctor with us, you will have varied tasks, including:

• Patient work in our department and outpatient clinic
• Administration of injections with ophthalmic medications
• Diagnostics and treatment in close collaboration with experienced colleagues
• Opportunity to participate in research and development projects

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a graduated doctor and have a genuine interest in eye care. To succeed and thrive in the role, we believe you possess the following qualities and competencies:

• Strong pedagogical ability and interest in mentoring and educating
• Good collaboration skills and a solution-oriented attitude
• Communicative ability and a receptive approach
• Commitment to operational development and research in the field

We Offer

We offer a residency position under supervision, full-time with start date according to agreement. The position is for 6 months with the possibility of extension for an additional 6 months.
