Our Operations

Pharmacy and pharmaceuticals constitute the hospital pharmacy function of Uppsala University Hospital and consist of the units of drug supply, drug preparation, clinical pharmacy, and departmental pharmacy. Within the departmental pharmacy unit, about 30 pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and technicians work with tasks such as ordering medications, managing drug inventories, preparing medications, and providing support for healthcare staff and patients in medication management issues.

Your Mission

You will belong to the departmental pharmacy unit and have your workplace at the Palliative Center, Genetikvägen. The position is a combination of clinical pharmacist, departmental pharmacist, and LMS pharmacist, with an emphasis on departmental pharmacist. You will work as part of the care team and will be responsible for medication management, which means that you will be responsible for ensuring that the department has the medications required for patient care, preparing intravenous medications, and maintaining a good structure and order in the medication room. In addition, you will also work as a clinical pharmacist (such as participating in rounds, providing recommendations, having patient consultations, etc.) and with developing and improving the quality work ongoing in medication management issues in the department. Since the position is new, it includes designing and starting up the role.

Your Qualifications

You who are applying are a pharmacy technician, preferably with preparation competence, or a pharmacist. The course "Clinical Pharmacy" is an advantage, but great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Previous experiences that the employer deems relevant, such as working in teams in patient-related work and in hospitals, may be advantageous.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities that can contribute to good collaboration with the department's staff and operations, such as good communication skills and teamwork ability.
