About the Role

As an IT technician at Linnaeus University, you work closely with people in their everyday lives. Here, IT is less about the technology itself and more about making people and tools work well together.

You will become part of a close-knit support team that works closely together to help students and employees succeed in their digital work and study environment.

The focus today is less on individual troubleshooting and more on a proactive, pedagogical, and long-term approach that creates value for both students and employees. This can involve everything from support via phone, chat, and service desk to meeting users on campus, assisting students and employees on the go, and holding shorter presentations on digital tools.

You are visible and accessible in everyday life, where users should feel safe approaching you with their questions. Through these meetings, you capture needs, see patterns, and contribute to improvements that make everyday life easier for many. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Tasks

The days may vary, but will largely consist of:

  • Meetings with students and employees to provide support and guidance in digital tools and work processes
  • Staffing the service desk, chat, and phone support, where you assist users with both simple and more complex questions
  • Short demonstrations or presentations of digital tools on-site in various parts of the organization
  • Identifying recurring needs and suggesting improvements that facilitate the everyday life of the organization
  • Collaboration with colleagues in the team to share knowledge, plan initiatives, and develop the support's working methods

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

  • Have at least a high school diploma or other education deemed equivalent
  • Are curious and have an interest in technology and digital systems, with a desire to understand how tools work
  • Good data and system understanding
  • Speak and write fluently in Swedish and English

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field
  • Experience in IT support, focusing on helping users and managing cases in support and service systems
  • Experience in a role where you have worked pedagogically and service-oriented
  • A clear pedagogical ability and experience in explaining digital solutions in a way that is adapted to different users' needs and conditions
  • The ability to work proactively by identifying recurring needs, suggesting improvements, and contributing to the development of digital working methods
