The growth in Älmhult is not only noticeable in new premises and more employees.

It is primarily evident in the projects. They are becoming more numerous, larger, more long-term, and technically more complex. For the Power business area, this means an increased need for experienced project managers who can take overall responsibility – commercially, technically, and operationally.

W5 Solutions develops and delivers advanced systems in power supply, simulation, and energy solutions to customers in the defense and government sectors. Each assignment is customized. Each delivery must work in practice, in reality, and over time.

– “We manage projects that can last for up to a couple of years and often span multiple technology areas. This requires project managers who can maintain structure while also understanding the technology in depth. You must be able to see the big picture and dare to make decisions when necessary,” says Niklas Sjödén, project manager.

Projects that require more than just planning

Within Power, around 100 employees work closely together in development, production, testing, and final delivery. This creates short decision-making paths but also demands clear leadership in the projects.

As a senior project manager, you will be responsible for executing our customer projects within areas such as power plants, battery systems, chargers, and simulation solutions. You will lead cross-functional teams consisting of engineers, purchasing, production, and other specialists. The role is both technical and business-oriented.

– “We are not looking for someone who just administers a timeline. We are looking for a team captain. A person who takes responsibility for delivery, for dialogue with the customer, and for ensuring that the project meets its goals – all the way to the finish line,” continues Niklas.

A responsibility that is felt

The role entails clear commercial responsibility. You actively work with budget tracking, forecasts, and margins. At the same time, you are a natural coordinator internally, the one who creates structure, prioritizes, and holds everything together when complexity increases. You drive the projects from start to finish. Ensure that the requirements are clear. Follow up on finances, resources, and risks. And ensure that the delivery meets the right quality, on time.

The methodology is in place. The tools are as well. But W5 welcomes project managers who want to contribute to further developing working methods and processes.

– “We are in a phase where we are both growing and refining how we work. This means that you as a project manager will have a significant influence. If you have ideas for improvements or efficiencies, we want to hear them,” concludes Niklas.

As a senior project manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and executing larger customer projects from start to finish.
• Ensuring that projects are delivered according to requirements, timelines, and quality.
• Managing budgets, resources, and financial tracking.
• Leading cross-functional teams in development, purchasing, and production.
• Identifying and managing risks and taking necessary actions.
• Contributing to the development of project methodology and working methods.
• Maintaining a close and professional dialogue with customers.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Several years of experience leading technical projects in a manufacturing or technology-oriented business.
• Experience taking overall responsibility for delivery, finances, and customer relations.
• Relevant university education or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English.
• A valid driver's license as travel may be required.

It is an advantage if you have experience from the defense industry or working with complex systems, including advanced electrical and electronic solutions.
