Social Support Unit

The Social Support Unit is part of the Department of Social Services within the Social Administration. The unit primarily works with processing social support applications. There are 20 dedicated employees with good knowledge in the field.

We are now looking for a colleague who can work with us during the summer months.

Your Responsibilities

Your main task is to receive and process applications related to social support. You will conduct investigations, assessments, and make decisions in your cases. You are responsible for social change work, which includes being proactive with other partners. We have a close collaboration with the municipality's labor market unit and strive to work closely with the Employment Service, primary care, psychiatry, and other actors to help individuals in the best way possible.

In meetings with clients, you will seek solutions that strengthen their resources and opportunities to become independent and live an autonomous life.

Who Are You?

You are studying to become a social worker or have a social work degree or equivalent education/experience that can be deemed equivalent. A driver's license (B) is required for the position.

Previous experience with social support is highly meritorious, as is experience in public authority work.

As a person, you are humble, patient, have a good demeanor, and find it easy to collaborate with others. You are structured in your work but can think flexibly when new solutions are needed. You enjoy meeting people in various situations, are fearless, and like challenges. You express yourself easily in speech and writing and have good knowledge of English.

As part of Region Gotland, we at the Social Administration work with social interventions such as counseling, support, and treatment. Our areas of operation include social services, home care, elderly care, and care for people with disabilities throughout Gotland.
