Care for People with Disabilities
At our group home, we support individuals with various disabilities in their daily lives.
Our goal is to facilitate practical aspects of life and provide support so that each resident can live as independently and meaningfully as possible, while feeling secure and being involved in their daily routines.
We are now looking for a new colleague for our group home on Stationsgatan in Slite. Here, you will work in a team of six dedicated and competent staff members where it is natural to support and learn from each other. We have a safe working environment and a close collaboration with our other group home in the area, which provides additional resources and opportunities for development together.
Your Responsibilities
As a support assistant/residential assistant, you will among other things:
- Work together with colleagues using IBIC (individual needs in focus) as a foundation.
- Support, motivate, and assist residents in their daily lives while interpreting and clarifying everyday situations based on individual needs.
- Adapt interventions according to residents' various needs, from extensive care to pedagogical support and guidance.
- Work from a pedagogical approach with a clear, structured method and low-arousal responses.
- Support practically and pedagogically during social activities, household tasks, personal care, and transfers.
- Participate in the quality development of the operation, meetings, training, and supervision.
- Have contact person responsibilities, which means establishing and revising implementation plans, documenting, and maintaining contact with relatives and representatives/guardians.
- Document and record in a safe and accurate manner.
- Work according to a basic schedule with day, evening, and weekend shifts as well as sleeping on-call duties.
Who Are You?
We prefer that you have completed a secondary education with a focus on care and nursing, child and leisure, or are trained as a social pedagogue and/or personal assistant. A B driver's license is required.
It is an advantage if you have previously worked in care for people with disabilities and have experience with challenging behaviors and low-arousal responses.
As a person, you are flexible and can adapt to different situations. You are clear and service-oriented with a focus on quality, self-driven but value collaboration with colleagues, and possess a personal maturity that makes you feel secure in your professional role. You are also proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as all communication and documentation occur in Swedish.
We see that you share the LSS intentions of a humanistic view of humanity and values, striving for respectful and good interactions in all situations.
Warm welcome to your application!
