Authority Department
The Authority Department works with authority exercise according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS).
The department consists of four units: the case management unit, the reception unit, the disability unit, and the preventive unit. We have offices in Visby, Slite, and Hemse.
We investigate, decide, and follow up on interventions for individuals who, due to age or disability, need support and care. The department is also responsible for fee processing, housing adaptation grants, and support for relatives. We have an important mission that makes a difference for others. We are a cheerful team of about 60 employees.
Your Responsibilities
As an assistant case officer, you will handle cases according to current legislation.
You will base your work on guidelines and current routines to investigate needs and make decisions in a legally secure manner. The assignment includes collaborating with other authorities and partners. The work requires great sensitivity to individual needs.
Who Are You?
You have a degree in social work or are currently studying social work. Alternatively, you have another equivalent higher education. A B driver's license is a requirement.
It is an advantage if you have experience in case management from practical training, student employment, or previous summer jobs. We would also like you to have experience working according to the IBIC investigation method and in the operational system Treserva.
You have a good ability to conduct meetings with multiple parties, both digitally and physically. You need to have personal maturity and a good ability to see and listen to needs. Furthermore, you see collaboration as a natural and important part of your work. The assignment requires you to have good structure and be meticulous in your work approach. You have very good communication skills in both spoken and written form as meetings and documentation are fundamental to the work.
Before a hiring decision, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record. Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the recruitment process.

As part of Region Gotland, we at the social administration work with social interventions such as counseling, support, and treatment. Our areas of operation include social services, home healthcare, elderly care, and care for people with disabilities throughout Gotland.
