Therapist for Family Peace in Region Gotland

In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

The Family Peace Unit

Family Peace is an operation within social services that works with violence in close relationships.

The operation consists of a working group with social workers and therapists, led by the chief social worker and unit manager. The operation also has administrative support from unit assistants. Family Peace is organizationally part of the same unit as the social emergency service and the dependency unit's team for authority enforcement.

The mission of Family Peace is to meet individuals who are or have been subjected to violence in close relationships and those who perpetrate or have perpetrated violence in close relationships by offering support measures and treatment based on the individual needs of our various target groups. In the team, social workers are responsible for investigating and assessing the need for support measures and for carrying out approved treatment measures and open service measures both individually and in groups. Therapists carry out approved measures and open service measures and lead the unit's group treatments.

We are a team of dedicated employees who help each other when the job is challenging. Like other units within IFO, we work according to the Signs of Safety approach, which means that we strive for individuals to be involved throughout their process. Right now, we are looking for a new colleague to join our team as a therapist. The position includes both conversation support—which can be provided individually and in the form of support groups for victims and perpetrators of violence—as well as more practical and pedagogically designed support measures.

We offer a pleasant and developing work environment, external supervision, flexible hours, as well as wellness benefits and wellness hours. The catchment area is all of Gotland, and the workplace is centrally located in Visby.

Your Responsibilities

Employees at Family Peace work to strengthen and develop resources in collaboration with individuals and sometimes their networks. As a therapist with us, you will work with conversation support based on various conversation methods as well as more practical and concrete where there is a need for pedagogical support measures.

Your assignments are based on the individual’s needs and the social worker's assessment. The work consists of social change and motivational work aimed at individuals using evidence-based treatment methods as tools. The work at Family Peace is carried out both independently and together with colleagues in the team as well as relevant partners.

Who Are You?

You who are applying are a trained social worker or have an academic education that is deemed equivalent. Further education in violence in close relationships and evidence-based treatment methods is meritorious.

Experience working with violence in close relationships is a merit. We would like you to have experience working within social services and knowledge of the application of the Social Services Act, or alternatively experience working in similar roles within treatment in other operations.

Meritorious is also multilingualism, cultural competence, and experience in treatment work in contexts that require high flexibility and personal responsibility. As a person, you are responsible, structured, and secure in your professional role.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We hope you feel tempted to start working with us; do not hesitate to send in your application!
