We make Sweden ready.

Your Responsibilities and Tasks

Within the function of explosives, we primarily handle various types of permit applications and approvals related to the handling of explosives and explosive precursors, and we monitor our permits through supervision of the handling.

We produce informational materials and lecture at training sessions arranged by us or external organizers. The work also includes the drafting of regulations, and we assist local authorities in supervisory matters and provide information and advice to companies and other stakeholders. The area is governed by EU regulations and directives, so international work, mainly at the EU level, also occurs within the unit.

The work encompasses both accident prevention and crime prevention aspects, the latter of which has increased in scope in recent years. Depending on your experience and background, you will initially focus on certain parts of the work within the function to gradually grow into the role.

Your Knowledge and Competencies

We are looking for someone who has:

  • An academic education with a natural science or technical orientation, or equivalent knowledge that we assess as comparable.
  • Several years of work experience.
  • A valid driver's license (B).
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Participated in the development of regulations or equivalent documents.
  • Knowledge of exercising supervision.
  • Experience in crime prevention work related to explosions.

In all our work, both internally and externally, we must act based on the state value framework. Like all employees and leaders with us, you are expected to act according to the agency's approach.

The approaches apply in everyday life, crises, and war. They should be seen as a whole and build on each other; collaborative – proactive - action-oriented.

To succeed in the role, we see that you are service-oriented, have personal maturity, and possess good linguistic analytical skills. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

About the Employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Your workplace will be in Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel may be required in the position.

The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Typically, Swedish citizenship is required. When placed in a security class, a security screening with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Civil Defense Agency are designated for military service.

About Us

The position is located in the Department of Rescue Services at the Section for Handling Explosives. The section works with legislation, support, and development of society's preventive work in the field of explosives, both accident prevention and crime prevention. The section is also responsible for tasks in the area of market control.

We have an activity-based office where you can choose your workplace according to your own needs. You also have the opportunity to work part of your time remotely. Other benefits include the possibility of wellness hours, wellness grants, and favorable vacation conditions.

All of us who work at the Civil Defense Agency are expected to contribute to increased gender equality and equal treatment for a work environment and a society free from discrimination.

Want to know more? If you have questions, please contact Section Chief Suzanne Noreklint. Union representatives are Lena Bergman Bokvist (Saco-S), Lena Bäcklund Gillstedt (ST), and Josefin Berglund (SEKO). All can be reached via the switchboard number 0771-240 240.

Welcome with your application by March 15, 2026.
