About us

The Activity House Kanalvägen is an individualized daily activity center according to LSS, located in central Täby. We cater to adults within group 1 and are available according to LOV in several municipalities in northern Stockholm.

With us, the individual is at the center. We work calmly, structured, and closely with a focus on participation, independence, and a meaningful everyday life. The activities are shaped according to the participants' needs and interests and offer varied activities in creation, production, movement, music, and outdoor environments, always adapted to the individual's conditions.

Our staff has broad competence and various professional backgrounds. Together, we create a safe, predictable, and creative environment where both participants and staff can develop.

About the assignment

The assignment involves providing individual support to a young adult with significant disabilities and a great need for structure, supervision, and care. The work is done 1:1 and requires high presence, attentiveness, and the ability to create security in everyday life.

The support includes, among other things:

• Support in daily activities and meaningful engagement

• Personal care (ADL)

• Support in communication using pictures, support signs, and other aids

• Preventive measures and management of challenging situations

• Supervision and safety focus in all activities

• The work requires a low-arousal, clear, and consistent approach, as well as a good ability to build relationships and trust over time.

Working hours and employment form

• Working hours: weekdays during the day, approx. 70%

• Employment form: special fixed-term employment (SÄVA) with the possibility of permanent employment

• Start date according to agreement

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is secure in themselves, has good endurance, and enjoys working closely with an individual in a demanding but very meaningful assignment. You are calm, stable, and easily adaptable to the individual's needs.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

To apply for the position, you need to have:

• Experience working within LSS, daily activities, personal assistance, or similar

• Experience working with significant support needs and/or challenging behaviors

• Ability to work in a low-arousal and structured manner

• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

Meritorious:

• Education as a nursing assistant, support assistant, or equivalent

• Experience with AAC, support signs, or clarifying pedagogy

• Experience in 1:1 work
