Information about the Employment and Welfare Administration
The administration consists of two areas of operation: Individual and Family Care and Functional Support. Together, we work to provide support, security, and development opportunities for the municipality's residents.
Within Individual and Family Care, we meet people in various life situations and offer investigations, support, and interventions that strengthen children, youth, adults, and families, while also addressing issues related to financial assistance and employment-promoting measures.
Functional Support is responsible for providing individually tailored support to children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Through various housing forms, daily support, daily activities, and health and medical care interventions, we create conditions for participation and an independent life.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of public health developer is organized within the Employment and Welfare Administration, and you will have the administration manager as your closest supervisor, as well as a close connection to the administration's management group. The work includes municipality-wide public health work in collaboration with other administrations.
As a public health developer, you will play a central role in driving the municipality's strategic public health work forward. You will develop and lead the work with governing documents, strategies, and operational plans related to public health and sustainable development, ensuring that the initiatives align with both the municipality's goals and national and regional guidelines. You will also be responsible for compiling and further developing the municipality's sustainability report.
Your assignment includes being an expert and contributing with well-founded analyses and recommendations on public health issues such as drug prevention work, children's rights perspective, and social sustainability. You will prepare decision-making materials for the politicians, handle referrals and matters from various actors, and support the organization with knowledge and guidance in strategic public health issues.
The work also involves building networks and creating good collaboration both internally and externally. You will engage in dialogue with politicians, civil servants, and civil society, initiate collaborations, and participate in local and regional networks to strengthen the municipality's public health work. Through planned dialogues and information efforts, you will contribute to increasing knowledge about public health issues in society.
An important part of the role is to analyze and follow up on the municipality's public health data. You will identify needs and challenges, evaluate the effects of implemented measures, and present results in a clear and pedagogical manner to decision-makers and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to public health issues and a strategic ability to translate knowledge into concrete actions.
To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
- A university degree in public health science or another relevant academic education deemed equivalent.
- Experience working in the public health field and in change and development work, as well as a strong understanding of social sustainability and sustainable development as a whole.
- The ability to work strategically and process-oriented, as well as drive development projects.
- Strong ability to collaborate and build networks with various actors, both internally and externally.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good computer skills and experience with the Office suite.
- A valid driver's license (B) is required.
It is an advantage if you have experience in municipal public health work or work within a politically governed organization, as well as experience managing your own budget.
