Job Description

During the implementation of a new operational monitoring system and upcoming parallel operation, our client needs to strengthen their management organization with experienced IT specialists/system administrators. The goal is to ensure the IT operations for the current operational monitoring system. Therefore, we are looking for experienced IT specialists/system administrators with experience in managing mission-critical systems in complex Linux environments.

Responsibilities

You will work alongside other IT specialists/system administrators in a management organization that has a close collaboration with the business. The organization is responsible for the management of the current SCADA/EMS system, with support from experts in IT infrastructure. The goal is to maintain and ensure the operation of the existing system until the new system is in production.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading troubleshooting during incidents and acting as support and assistance for other systems, the business, and external parties.
• Writing scripts and managing manual SQL database operations to assist with manual deployment, testing, and troubleshooting. Development and coding of application modules are performed by the vendor.
• Continuously ensuring that technical changes in the application do not affect operational reliability, IT security, or existing functions.
• Ensuring delivery and operation of the SCADA/EMS system, including maintenance and monitoring. Participating in upgrades and system improvements.
• Contributing to the continuous development of the team's activities and processes together with the team.

Mandatory requirements:

• At least 5 years of work experience in complex IT environments based on Linux/Unix.
• At least 3 years of work experience with mission-critical or operational-critical IT systems (e.g., real-time control and monitoring).
• At least 3 years of work experience in application and system administration.

Desirable requirements

• University or college education focused on IT, or equivalent engineering degree.
• At least 1 year of work experience in the energy sector.
• At least 1 year of work experience in security-sensitive operations.
• At least 1 year of work experience in government or other public sector operations.
