IT Forensic Specialist at the Economic Crime Authority in Stockholm
The Economic Crime Authority prevents, detects, interrupts, investigates, and prosecutes economic crimes. Our 800 employees have various competencies and professional roles, such as prosecutors, police officers, economic crime investigators, administrators, and other specialists, all working together against economic crime. Workplace
At the Economic Crime Authority in Stockholm, operations are conducted at three economic crime chambers, one financial market chamber, and one police operational unit. The IT forensic operations in Stockholm currently consist of five IT forensic specialists. We are now looking for two or more IT forensic specialists who want to continue developing the IT forensic operations. The Economic Crime Authority's operations are primarily conducted in prosecutor-led working groups where prosecutors, administrators, police officers, and other investigators with special expertise in areas such as auditing and analysis are included. Your Responsibilities
As an IT forensic specialist, you assist investigators with forensic evidence and information security of the digital media that are an important part of investigations of economic crime. The main task is to search, secure, analyze, and document the contents of electronic data carriers, such as computers and mobile phones. You may assist in searches where IT is an important part of evidence collection. As an IT forensic specialist, you will also conduct remote searches (GPD) to secure information in our preliminary investigations. You may be called to testify in court during trials and assist prosecutors in court with expert knowledge in the field. You participate in both internal business development and in training and skills development, both for yourself and others.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- post-secondary education in preferably IT forensics/information security or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way that the employer deems relevant
- at least a couple of years of work experience in similar tasks
- good IT skills regarding commonly used hardware, operating systems, and networks
- good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
- good knowledge of English.
It is meritorious to have:
- experience working in preliminary investigations
- experience working with IT forensic tools and/or similar tasks
- experience conducting remote searches
- experience with programming languages
- relevant IT forensic certification
- knowledge in law, economics, or tax law
- experience working with economic crime
- experience working with analysis, for example as an analyst
- experience and interest in method development and change work
- additional language skills beyond Swedish and English.
