Systems Engineer for the Combat Aircraft Division
Are you an engineer with experience in the development of larger software systems? We are now looking for a new employee for the Combat Aircraft Division. In close collaboration with an experienced team, you will have the opportunity to influence both the details and the overall aspects of projects that enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces and our export countries. Your work is significant at every step, from needs and ideas to delivery and follow-up.
About the Position
You will be part of a knowledge-intensive team that together utilizes your competencies to develop and maintain aircraft-related software systems for the JAS 39 Gripen, which the Armed Forces and our export countries use daily in their flight operations. Systems include flight training systems, technician and pilot training systems (simulators), as well as planning and evaluation systems.
In this role, you will closely collaborate with suppliers, the Armed Forces, and other customers to deliver the best possible versions of the JAS 39 Gripen. Therefore, you will be involved in the entire chain, from development to decommissioning. This means you will participate in forums with suppliers, the Armed Forces, and other export countries regarding the aircraft-related software systems.
As a systems engineer with us, you will work through the entire chain from needs to world-leading technology. In this role, you will be involved in all phases of the system's lifecycle, from ensuring that long-term plans are developed to handling operational issues. You will work with capability requirements from the Armed Forces, product management, procurements, and participate in reviewing design and technical solution proposals from suppliers. You will have a broad network within FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) with suppliers and customers.
The position is based in Stockholm. Travel is included in the position, and international travel may occur.
About You
We are looking for someone who is a civil or university engineer, systems scientist, or has equivalent competencies acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You have several years of experience working with software for larger systems at a high level. To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have experience working in project form. A fundamental requirement is that you have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written forms.
It is advantageous if you have experience in the area of electronic warfare and also if you have experience working in the simulator field. We would like you to have experience negotiating with suppliers and that you have worked within software architecture or IT security. If you have previous experience working with ILS (Integrated Logistics Support), or military flight regulations or equivalent civilian regulations, we see it as an advantage. We view positively if you have worked with product management and requirements specification. To succeed in this role, we would like you to have experience in technical analysis work or systems development.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and we are looking for someone who enjoys working both independently and in teams, which requires you to be attentive and have good collaboration skills. We also see that you are self-driven, proactive, take your own initiatives, and solve problems constructively in close collaboration with colleagues, as well as having the ability to plan and structure your work.
