About the Position

As a Telecommunications Technician in the Armed Forces and FMTIS, you are an important part of a successful team in an authority that is in strong growth. The work is varied and is mainly carried out in the Armed Forces' facilities in Muskö and Berga, but also to some extent at other locations in Haninge.

About the Organization

FMTIS has five units that perform operation and maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems. The Implementation Unit Mid is one of them. The unit has a geographical spread in central Sweden and Visby and is staffed with both military and civilian personnel. The Implementation Department Haninge consists of three sections with different focuses, and the number of employees in the department currently totals around 40.

Main Responsibilities

We are looking for a Telecommunications Technician with good knowledge of IP and networks to strengthen our team within the Haninge Garrison.

You will primarily work with IP telephony, PBX systems, distribution networks, and IT/Tele connections of various kinds. The work is mainly conducted in Muskö and Berga, but production at other facilities and locations occurs.

As the technology area is developing very quickly, it is an advantage if you have a technical interest, knowledge of TCP/IP, and a desire to develop and train internally in your field.

Smaller installations, troubleshooting, and documentation in various support systems are common, as well as daily contact with users, which requires a service-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

  • Documented knowledge of TCP/IP or equivalent competence as assessed by the employer
  • Good knowledge of computer networks
  • Experience working with distribution networks (copper/fiber)
  • Good general IT skills
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in Swedish and English
  • Good analytical ability
  • Driver's license B with manual transmission

Meritorious

  • Experience working with IP telephony systems
  • Certifications in Cisco, such as CCNA
  • Knowledge of cabling/termination and documentation of telecommunication installations.
  • Current and relevant professional experience in IT systems, IT equipment, and IT communication
  • Experience in IT security work, e.g., information security
  • Completed military service or GMU
  • Familiarity with the Armed Forces' equipment

Employment type: permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
