The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer position as a treatment pedagogue at SiS Youth Home Långanäs! As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge and skills in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and contribute to the smooth running of daily activities such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. The work may include case management. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are according to schedule, day - evening, and weekend.

As a summer substitute at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training of three days to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

• At least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
• Driver's license B
• Good Swedish in speech and writing

Meritorious are:

• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
• Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer
• Security guard training
• Experience working with youth

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values, to be a place for change. You have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth and/or clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time establishing good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in stressful situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.
