The student health department is a large division with 150 employees. There are great opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with many different professional categories working within the school. The speech therapist who is hired with us will be part of the operational support of the student health department. The operational support provides complementary support to preschools and schools. The operational support works on behalf of municipal and independent preschools, primary schools, adapted schools, secondary schools, and adapted upper secondary schools. The operational support works based on the identified needs of the operations and the prioritized goals and assignments of the administration. We provide support at the organizational, group, and individual levels.

The professionals working within operational support include special educators, special teachers, speech therapists, educators, and social educators. The operational support also includes Skolfam and the special education service in hospitals. A total of 24 people work in operational support, of which 7 are speech therapists.

Job Responsibilities

The speech therapists in Helsingborg work at the organizational, group, and individual levels. The goal of the speech therapists' approach is that all students who are linguistically vulnerable receive the support they need continuously in their school everyday life. This means that the speech therapists primarily work with professional development, consultation, and guidance aimed at the educators who work closest to the student and, to a limited extent, with direct training for individual students.

This approach allows the competence regarding linguistic vulnerability and language disorders to spread in schools, and that students receive increased and accessible support in their everyday classroom situation.

The main focus of the speech therapist is to support students' development towards the educational goals in accordance with the school's mission.

The speech therapist provides consultation/guidance/training and collaborates with other professional categories within student health and school. The assignment includes monitoring current research in speech therapy/school speech therapy and related areas.

Qualifications

• You are a licensed speech therapist.
• You have experience working as a speech therapist in schools and/or preschools.
• You have experience in guiding, consulting, and training staff groups.
• You have good organizational skills, the ability to work in a group as well as the ability to work independently is required.
• You find it easy to collaborate with others.
• You work goal-oriented and always follow up and analyze your efforts.
