The NIP unit is a multidisciplinary team that consists of both outpatient clinic and inpatient ward, located on Påskliljegatan in Malmö, close to Hyllie station with good commuting options.

Our mission is to provide early and cohesive care to individuals who have, or are suspected to have, psychotic symptoms for the first time in their lives. The work is conducted according to national guidelines with a clear family and network focus, where relatives are involved early in the care process.

The clinic on Påskliljegatan consists of about 15 employees from various professions who work together to meet the needs of the patients. Currently, around 150 patients are connected to the clinic. We care for individuals aged 18-55 who have recently developed psychosis and work in a structured, evidence-based manner with high continuity.

Ward 25 is an inpatient ward with about 15 staff and 8 care places, as well as the possibility of day care. The ward has a close collaboration with the clinic in the same building, which allows for good continuity in the patient's care as doctors and fixed care contacts follow the patient even during inpatient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position, you will have the opportunity to work both at the NIP clinic and Ward 25. You will be offered a stimulating job with in-depth assessment, investigation, and treatment of individuals who have recently developed psychosis.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with other professionals in the team, where each professional role contributes with its specific expertise in the clinical assessment and treatment. As the responsible physician for the patient, you will follow the patient through the care chain and also have responsibility for any admission to Ward 25. This creates good continuity, security, and quality in the patient's care.

The operation is conducted in accordance with national guidelines and regionally standardized care processes. In your role, you will receive support from your two physician colleagues and other team members. The clinic offers joint supervision with a family focus as well as profession-specific meetings in the area that enable collaboration, collegial support, and continuous professional development. The organization values competence development and further education, which may include participation in courses, training days, and conferences based on your and the organization's needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you have specialist competence in psychiatry. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement. You should have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision.

For employment as a senior physician, you must also have:

• full-time employment of at least three years (documented effective time)
• clinical skill and independence in psychiatry
• defined medical responsibility and knowledge area
• documented teaching and supervision merits.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. You may have acquired this through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application the pedagogical courses you have completed or planned, experience in supervision, and teaching at different levels.

As a person, you have good communication skills, where you can convey knowledge and messages clearly and pedagogically. Additionally, you have a good ability to prioritize among your tasks when the situation requires it.
