Do you want to be part of an engaged and positive team? Are you interested in neurosurgery and enjoy working both independently and in a team? Do you want to develop both professionally and personally? Don’t hesitate to apply for the position of nurse at the Neurosurgery Clinic in Lund.

The neurosurgery area in Lund is part of the Operations Area (VO) for neurosurgery and pain rehabilitation at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). We are one of seven neurosurgical units in Sweden and provide highly specialized care for the Southern healthcare region. We care for patients with injuries and diseases of the central nervous system. Within the operational area, we offer intensive, intermediate pre- and post-operative care as well as surgical nursing and outpatient services.

One of our experienced nurses at the clinic will soon retire. Therefore, we are now looking for a new nurse with an interest in neurosurgery to join our team at the clinic. As a nurse at the neurosurgery clinic, you will have a varied and interesting job. Our clinic mainly sees patients for follow-ups, new visits, or admissions prior to surgery. Here, a team that values joy at work and collaboration operates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a nurse who finds neurosurgery interesting and wants to work with these patients. With us, you will have a varied and developing outpatient role within highly specialized neurosurgery.

A central part of the position is pre-operative admission, where you inform, prepare, and coordinate for surgery. You will work closely with doctors, nursing assistants, surgical planning, day care, and wards, and you are an important part of creating a safe and smooth patient flow.

You will also work with patient counseling via phone and 1177, provide support before and after surgery, and handle more urgent inquiries. You are an important contact for patients and relatives throughout the care process with us in neurosurgery.

The work is independent but occurs in close collaboration with other nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and doctors. The position is primarily daytime on weekdays, and it also includes two weekend shifts per month. You will receive a structured introduction with shadowing and support from experienced colleagues.

We strive to continuously improve, and we value initiative and innovative thinking. With a generous approach to development and deepening knowledge related to neurosurgery and tasks, we encourage active learning over time.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. Basic computer skills and experience with the Melior journal system are desirable.

The work is both team-based and independent, which requires you to have good collaboration skills as well as the ability to structure and plan your days. We also see that you are responsible, flexible, and can adapt to changing circumstances. Creativity and initiative are assets. For you, person-centered care is a given. Experience working with neurosurgery or neurology is meritorious for the position. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

In this recruitment, we apply ongoing selection. Welcome with your application!
