The area of Ophthalmology is an exciting and enjoyable medical field to work in. We have both an eye clinic and our own surgical operations, all within our own premises. Our team consists of doctors, nurses, orthoptists, optometrists, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and administrators. There is a wide range of expertise within the organization, along with great opportunities for guidance and professional development. Our unit is characterized by high patient flows, which require good planning, foresight, and the ability to quickly adapt to new conditions.

We aim to become the clinic of the future and actively work on various change projects. It is important for us that our staff is well-educated. Since we have high internal competence, we continuously train our employees in various areas of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer a stimulating and varied job alongside colleagues in the organization. In your role as an operating room nurse, you will meet patients with various eye diseases. We perform cataract surgeries, various outpatient procedures, and provide injection treatments such as intravitreal injections (IVT) and Botox.

The surgical team consists of ophthalmologists, nurses, and nursing assistants. Most surgeries are performed under local anesthesia.

When you start with us, you will be offered an introductory program based on your previous experiences. It is important to us that you, as an employee, have the opportunity to grow and develop with the organization. For you as a nurse, there are good opportunities to further your education to become an ophthalmic nurse.

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, and we have on-call services between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare, preferably with further education in surgical nursing or as a specialist nurse with a focus on ophthalmic care. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. Previous work experience in eye surgery is an advantage. It is also positive if you are curious and interested in ophthalmic care.
