Your mission
The role of MEL Manager is a key position in strengthening learning and data-driven decision-making within the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and quality assurance of data collection systems as well as for the collection, management, analysis, and visualization of both quantitative and qualitative program data. The work aims to ensure evidence-based planning, adaptive program management, accountability, and high-quality reporting. A central part of the role is to translate analysis results into concrete program improvements and strengthen the organization's ability to use data as a basis for decision-making.
You will work with a project and program portfolio where you will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation in close collaboration with program officers and partner organizations. The role also includes developing and improving M&E systems, enhancing data quality through structured processes, and contributing to capacity development among partner organizations in data collection, analysis, and adaptive program management.
You will closely collaborate with a colleague in a similar role, program teams, and partner organizations to generate insights that strengthen the network's performance and learning, as well as ensure that data and evidence are actively used in strategic and operational decisions.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has:
Relevant academic education in statistics, data science, economics, etc.
Documented experience in data analysis and excellent skills in Excel and statistical programs (e.g., R, STATA, SPSS, or Python). Documented experience in creating dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
Good understanding of M&E principles, indicators, and quality standards.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Documented experience in leading efforts to promote a learning culture within organizations.
It is also highly meritorious if you have experience in:
GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
Digital data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO, CommCare, etc.).
Qualitative data analysis (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti).
Data-driven M&E work within the civil society sector.
Using AI-supported tools to enhance monitoring and evaluation processes by, for example, automating data cleaning, creating advanced visualizations, conducting trend analyses, and producing current analytical reports while adhering to ethical data practices and data security guidelines.
