Make a difference. Every day.

Do you want to work to improve the lives of others? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

The Tissue Bank in Lund is a licensed operation that provides, among other things, corneas, heart valves, skin, bones, tendons, and ossicles for transplantation purposes. We are Scandinavia's largest multi-tissue bank, distributing approximately 1,000 tissues per year, including heart valves and corneas to the Scandinavian countries. The Tissue Bank also manages several biobanks for various medical purposes. We are a small workplace with a stable and positive workgroup characterized by close collaboration. As our mission is constantly evolving, your tasks may develop and change over time.

We retrieve tissues from deceased donors in our donation operating room, but also with the help of units at the National Board of Forensic Medicine (RMV), transplantation organizations, and pathology departments across the country, as well as from partners in Denmark and Norway.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a new colleague to join us at the Tissue Bank in Lund.

As a tissue coordinator with us, you, along with your colleagues, are responsible for a range of tasks related to tissue donation. Your work consists of both practical tasks involving the retrieval and preparation of tissues from deceased donors, as well as administrative tasks such as documentation and ongoing quality assurance work. This includes travel with a company car to the morgues at all hospitals in the Southern Healthcare Region for the retrieval of tissues.

You will be involved in the entire chain from investigating donors, obtaining consent through conversations with relatives, to the retrieval and preparation of tissues, as well as the distribution of tissues to various surgical units. All work is carefully documented in traceable quality systems. You will also assist in information sessions or lectures for the profession and have the opportunity to participate in research projects.

As a new employee, you will receive an individually tailored introduction based on your previous experiences. We assume that everyone has an individual learning process and see it as a given that you will receive support from colleagues to become confident in your new role.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Working hours are during the day with the possibility of flexibility. Weekend on-call duty is also included according to a schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome applicants with one of the following qualifications:

  • licensed nurse with authorization to work within Swedish healthcare.
  • licensed biomedical analyst with authorization to operate within Swedish healthcare.

Furthermore, proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is required.

To be eligible for the position, you must have a B driver's license and good knowledge of English in both spoken and written form. You should have good computer skills and be accustomed to working with Office programs. Previous experience in an autopsy environment, in an operating room, or in donation operations is advantageous. Experience in quality work is also a merit.

As a person, you are committed, flexible, responsive to your surroundings, and driven by teamwork, contributing to effective collaboration. You have the ability to work independently, and your work is characterized by a high sense of responsibility. You plan, organize, and prioritize tasks efficiently. Furthermore, you find practical development work interesting. Since we are keen to find the right person, we place great importance on personal suitability.

In this recruitment, we use ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application!
