Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different job roles. We are growing in line with the municipality's development with more residents, more housing, and a larger range of services. Do you want to make a real difference?
Do you want to make a real difference for families in need of long-term support? We are looking for dedicated therapists who want to work long-term to ensure that children can thrive with their birth families.
Your new job
You will work with therapeutic and supportive interventions in families where long-term difficulties affect parenting abilities. Through structured, relationship-based, and persistent work, you will strengthen the family's own resources and provide complementary and stabilizing support as needed to ensure that the child's needs for care, safety, and predictability are met. The assignment aims to create long-term conditions for the child to develop well and, when possible, remain with their birth family.
The work is based on assignments from the Child and Youth Investigation Unit and involves planning, implementing, and following up on interventions in the family's daily life. A significant part of the work consists of home visits and regular contacts with children and parents, focusing on structure, functioning routines, and enhanced interaction. The assignment also includes documentation, continuous assessment, and collaboration with internal and external actors such as schools, healthcare, and the municipality's open care services.
The work is conducted independently and together with colleagues and is primarily carried out in the families' home environment. If necessary, work may be scheduled outside regular office hours to create accessibility and continuity in the families' daily lives.

- social worker
- social pedagogue (only higher education approved with 180 credits)
- behavioral scientist
- other approved and completed three-year higher education degree of at least 180 credits that the employer assesses as equivalent education
We prefer that you have experience in therapeutic work with children/youth/families, experience working with problematic schooling, domestic violence, substance abuse, as well as experience with some of the methods used.
To be successful as a family therapist with us, you should be engaged, persistent, and curious about people. You are secure in yourself and your professional role and should be able to meet people in need of social services support in a clear and trustworthy manner. You have good empathetic abilities, are structured, and can document your work. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is required, both in reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing, and speaking.
Furthermore, we will place great importance on your ability to work well with complex issues involving many actors and your good collaborative skills, as well as your goal- and result-oriented approach and initiative to enable changes in therapeutic work.
In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
A driving license (B) is a requirement for the position.

The Child and Youth Open Care area works to strengthen the relationship between children and parents and to promote interaction and communication within the family. We primarily work with assessed assistance cases. The open care has two working groups of about 20 therapists each, two coordinators, and one unit manager. We are a working group that strives for an even distribution regarding both age and gender. You will join a team with good competence, curiosity, flexibility, and a very good working climate. Our workplace is centrally located in Jönköping.
