Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions.

We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us

Do you want to make a real difference for young people and families in complex life situations?

We are starting a third youth unit (ages 10–20) within Children and Youth in Enskede-Årsta-Vantör.

We are now looking for social workers who want to work with qualified investigations and follow-up of interventions in a stable organization with clear structures, present leadership, and good collegial support. You will be part of the startup and help shape the working methods and collaboration in the new unit.

Here’s what our employees say:
”I feel every day that I am doing something meaningful, but it becomes most evident when I receive good feedback directly from my clients or see that it makes a difference for a child.”

We offer

Leadership that sees and supports: With us, you have managers who are present in everyday life and whom you can turn to when you need to discuss assessments, get support in difficult situations, or just need to air a thought.

You will also be offered:

  • A solid introduction with the support of a mentor.
  • Health allowance of 3,000 SEK/year and access to a gym in the building.
  • Flexible working hours with winter and summer working hours and the possibility of vacation exchange.

Your role

As a social worker in the youth group, you will work with investigations and follow-ups according to SoL and LVU. You will meet young people and their networks in often complex situations and contribute to creating long-term solutions. You will use evidence-based methods such as iRisk, SAVRY, and ADAD.

Whether you are new to the profession or have several years of experience, you will receive the support you need through structured introduction, mentoring, an accessible manager, and a work environment that encourages dialogue and exchange of experiences.

”I can always turn to my immediate manager - we have a trusting relationship where I feel I can always ask if there is something.”
– Social worker, Children and Youth

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has (requirements):

  • Degree in social work.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and following up on interventions.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in writing in Swedish.
  • Good knowledge of relevant social legislation in the area of children and youth, such as SoL and LVU.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience in authority work within children and youth.
  • Experience in network work within social work.
  • Knowledge of assessment methods such as iRisk, EARL, SAVRY, ADAD, and Signs of Safety.

We see that you:

  • Are empathetic and attentive.
  • Have good communication skills and a genuine interest in working with the target group.
  • Are confident in making assessments and decisions even in difficult situations.
  • Are structured and have an easy time organizing your work.
  • Have the ability to remain calm and stable in pressured situations.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

About us

We are one of Stockholm's 11 municipal administrations and have our office in the Slakthus area near Globen. In total, we have about 89 employees within Children and Youth. We work to provide the right support and interventions to children, youth, and their families through several specialized units. With us, you will meet competent and engaged colleagues, experienced and present managers, and a culture where we support and develop each other. We work systematically, have the child's best interests in focus, and always strive to improve our working methods.

”The best thing about my colleagues is that they have become close friends to me, that I get to have fun with them at work, which in itself makes us work even better together.”
– Employee, youth group

Your application and recruitment process

We have removed the personal letter; instead, you will answer a few questions about your skills and experience in connection with your application. Please note: For this position, you may be required to provide a current extract from the police criminal record. The extract requested should be valid for work with children in activities other than school and childcare. The position will be filled based on the necessary decisions being made.

Does this sound like a role for you? Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period, so do not wait to submit your application. We look forward to hearing from you!

Enskede Årsta Vantör is one of 11 municipal administrations in Stockholm City.
