Welcome to the team Young at Risk / Youth Open Care Unit!

The team currently consists of 2 youth therapists, 2 SIG/SSPF coordinators, 2 Right Curve therapists, and 1 counselor working with Support Center/mediation/Youth Service. The operational work in the unit is led by a team leader who supports the employees and ensures legal security and treatment processes.

In the Youth Open Care Unit, there is also the Youth Reception, Mini Maria, and the supported housing Myren. We are a total of 19 people who enjoy and develop at work.

About the job

Young at Risk is now looking for a youth therapist who wants to work closely with young people and offer individualized support. The work is primarily focused on treatment work with youth exhibiting norm-breaking behavior, but you will also work with youth facing psychosocial issues such as mental health problems. The tasks are varied and based on the action plans you develop together with the youth.

In the role of youth therapist, you work to achieve the set goals together with the youth and coordinate with guardians, social workers, and other professionals involved in the case. The support is tailored individually and may include structured treatment programs, individual conversations, and practical support and guidance. You will also be involved in the municipality's implementation of youth service. The position includes documentation in the journal system. In the Young at Risk unit, we work with assessed assistance measures and also assignments without assistance decisions (service), aiming to provide an easily accessible social service.

We work according to the RBM principles and allocate cases and match the right intervention based on risk level. The workgroup meets weekly during team meetings where we have collegial supervision based on Signs of Safety. Individual case reviews occur once a month with the team leader. In daily work, you will have close and frequent contact with the youth/family and other important partners around the youth, such as social services, schools, police, etc. Collaboration is a given for us. Together with colleagues in the unit, you plan the work to best meet the needs of the youth.

The position requires a high degree of flexibility, endurance, and collaboration skills. You meet the youth in the environment they prefer. If necessary, you guide the youth to relevant contacts such as healthcare and school. You will work on motivational efforts aimed at increasing protective factors for the young person.

About you

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and previous experience in treatment work with children/youth and families. It is advantageous if you have experience with youth exhibiting norm-breaking behavior and mental health issues. You may have worked within social services' open care. We are looking for someone who is used to working in a structured and goal-oriented manner. You easily build alliances with clients and drive change work forward. You are very flexible with both methods and working hours. You collaborate easily but are also strong in independent work. It is desirable that you have experience with some work methods such as RePulse, FFT, Turning Point, Crime as a Lifestyle. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
