Do you share our strong commitment to children in social care?

Come and work with us at the Family Home Unit in Järfälla!

The Family Home Unit is part of the Children and Youth division within the Social Services in Järfälla. We are a team of dedicated family home secretaries and child caseworkers, many with more than 15 years of experience in social work related to children and youth. Based on our different roles, we work side by side with everything concerning children and youth placed in family homes, contact activities, and EKB. We are a well-functioning workgroup, with a pleasant and good working climate, and above all, we do a great job and always keep the children in focus. We have a close collaboration with our colleagues in other areas of the organization and have access to a large internal open care.

Right now, we are in an exciting development project together with open care. The goal is to increase the conditions for sustainable placements in our compensated family homes by providing family homes and children with extended support. This support includes interaction support when the child is first placed in the family home, structured guidance throughout the placement, and crisis support as needed.

Järfälla is growing, and we need to grow too! Therefore, we are looking for new colleagues who want to make a difference and create good conditions for children placed in family homes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We work based on the triadic parenthood formed by social services, family homes, and biological parents. Social services have the overarching responsibility and have an important task of establishing good collaboration that benefits the child.

As a child caseworker, you are the child's own social worker, and your task is to follow the care and ensure that the child's needs are met in the best possible way. You will work together with the child's family home secretary and in close collaboration with parents, family homes, and the child's other biological and professional network. With the child in focus, you will carry out follow-ups and considerations of the care, investigate the child's needs, and follow up on any open care interventions. You will receive close supervision from one of our two team leaders who together are responsible for the unit's 10 child caseworkers.

Within the unit, there are also family home secretaries who recruit, investigate, support, and train family homes, contact persons, and contact families, as well as our placement coordinator, a role that handles all tasks related to procurement of external providers. The placement coordinator is our expert in quickly finding emergency homes and knows everything about our framework agreements.

The operational system for case management and documentation is Lifecare, and all work is conducted based on BBiC.

As an employee, we offer you many benefits. In addition to a wellness allowance of 3000 SEK/year, we also offer you annual working hours, professional development, and external supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be part of our competent team, we want you to have professional maturity and be motivated to develop and take responsibility for the operations. You share our value of a clear citizen perspective, meaning that we are here for the municipality's residents.

Formally, you need to have a degree in social work and preferably some years of experience in public authority work within social services concerning children and/or youth. It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a child caseworker or family home secretary within family home care. A driver's license is a requirement.

You are well acquainted with applicable legislation and BBiC. If you have experience with Signs of Safety and MI and appreciate working according to these approaches and tools, we see it as a strength.

You have an easy time communicating verbally and in writing and can adapt your communication based on what the situation requires. Since the work often involves meeting people in crisis and/or with a complex life situation, it is important that you can see opportunities, convey hope, and meet people in a respectful manner. You are structured, stable, and have the ability to understand other people's perspectives or situations without taking over the person's feelings. You find collaboration important and understand the role of authority. You are proactive and engaged in your work.
