The Ministry for Foreign Affairs, UD, is responsible for a wide range of issues within Sweden's foreign and security policy, development cooperation, and international trade. The Unit for International Development Cooperation, UD IU, is responsible for the overall governance of Swedish aid. The unit is responsible for issues related to Sida, Swedfund, and the Expert Group for Aid Studies (EBA) and coordinates policy, budget, and grant issues within expenditure area 7 International Aid. The unit also coordinates Swedish positions within the EU's development cooperation and coordinates issues related to the OECD's Development Assistance Committee DAC.

As an officer in the grant group, you will work with relevant units to develop and quality assure materials for grant initiatives from idea to follow-up and closure in accordance with political priorities and applicable regulations. The officer position involves coordinating and providing support to units regarding grant management within UD's expenditure areas. This includes, for example, strategically oriented grants, project grants, membership fees in international organizations, support to development banks and funds, as well as voluntary contributions in the form of core support to UN agencies. Decisions encompass approximately 250 initiatives amounting to around 20 billion SEK per year, most of which are within aid. Other tasks within the unit's areas of responsibility may also be relevant.

Your Background

You have an academic degree in a relevant field and at least one year of relevant work experience from the Government Offices, Swedish authorities, or international organizations. Experience in grant management within the state is an asset. You need a good understanding of the requirements for working in a politically governed organization. You can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

Your Qualities

We place great importance on personal qualities and are looking for someone who is meticulous, responsible, quality-conscious, analytical, structured, and has a good ability to initiate, lead, and implement processes. You should have excellent collaboration and communication skills, as well as good judgment and the ability to work towards tight deadlines. A good ability to create and maintain networks is essential.

Other

We offer one to two permanent positions that begin with a six-month probationary period. Start date is June 1 or by agreement.

The position is classified in a security class, and a security review with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. You must be a Swedish citizen.
