At the Social Services Department for Children and Youth, approximately 120 people work across seven different units.

The Children and Youth Unit is the largest unit with 45 employees. From March 1, the unit will be divided into two, but with existing workgroups and management unchanged. This is to enable better work on various issues in smaller contexts and to increase participation, which is more challenging in a large unit.

Children and Youth Unit 1 will include a reception group and an investigation team, while Children and Youth Unit 2 will consist of two investigation teams. All three investigation teams conduct investigations and grant services for children and youth aged 0-20 years. The reception group consists of six social workers and a group leader, while the investigation groups consist of nine social workers and a group leader. Each team includes a social worker with a specialist function who, in addition to their role as a social worker, has special responsibility for the introduction and mentorship of new employees. The group leaders work closely together and distribute cases collectively for an even workload. The Children and Youth Unit operates digitally, and all case management is digital.

Due to an upcoming parental leave, we are now seeking a temporary social worker for one of our investigation teams belonging to Children and Youth Unit 2. The temporary position will last for one year.

Job Responsibilities

As a social worker, you will meet children, youth, and parents daily. We care about each child's and youth's unique situation and strive to meet their needs in the best possible way. Openness and collaboration are key principles in this work. For many years, we have actively worked to implement approaches and methods according to Signs of Safety, which means we include networks in our work with children and youth and prioritize the family in the change process.

As a social worker, you will conduct investigations according to the Social Services Act together with the child and family. You will make assessments and propose services that you will then follow up on. We have a well-functioning outpatient care service that we collaborate well with. We always work in pairs during investigations, often also in the work with services.

The group leader provides close leadership, and social workers also have easy access to their unit manager. As a new social worker, you will also receive mentorship support.

Qualifications

A degree in social work is required.

It is an advantage if you have experience in public authority work concerning children and youth within social services.

You express yourself well in speech and writing and have a structured working method. You thrive in a fast-paced work environment, can manage multiple processes simultaneously, are flexible, and have good collaboration skills.

You have knowledge of the legislation governing social services' work with children and youth, as well as the mission of social services.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
