Police Region Mitt is responsible for police operations in Uppsala, Västmanland, and Gävleborg counties. Each county constitutes a police area. The police region is organizationally composed of the three police areas, three regional units, and a secretariat. The main location for Police Region Mitt is Uppsala, and the region currently has about 2,700 employees. The Uppsala police area is organized into three local police areas: Uppsala/Knivsta, Enköping/Håbo, and Norduppland, an investigation section, and a secretariat. There are currently about 662 employees in the police area.

The local police area Uppsala/Knivsta encompasses two municipalities: Uppsala and Knivsta, with approximately 248,000 and 21,500 inhabitants, respectively. Within the Uppsala/Knivsta local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention operations, investigation groups, as well as support and service. We are now looking for a group manager for a new group BF IGV UL, which will work with investigative measures in external service.

JOB DESCRIPTION

BF IGV UL is a newly established group where the tasks are a combination of investigative and crime prevention work. The investigative work primarily targets investigative measures in external uniformed service. The group should also be able to operate in other crime-fighting activities within the local police area based on local problem patterns. You will primarily collaborate with the local police area's operations center (LDC), area police operations, and investigation groups.

The assignment as group manager BF IGV UL

As a group manager, you report to the local police area manager and are part of the management team of the Uppsala local police area, where you together are responsible for ensuring that assignments are carried out and for driving the authority's change and development work. You have particular responsibility for the group's operations in the area of investigative measures in external service and its results. As a group manager, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.

As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the assignment as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • at least 6 months of continuous experience working as a supervisor, project manager, or similar
  • police degree, in accordance with the Police Ordinance (2014:1104)
  • experience in participating in change and development work
  • experience in criminal investigation operations

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

  • experience in leading others towards set goals and results
  • participated in management forums
  • experience of the police organization's operations and ongoing change assignments
  • experience in participating in/driving collaboration with community actors outside your own organization
  • management and leadership training for direct, indirect, and/or strategic levels
