The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS youth home Bärby outside Uppsala receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and substance abuse.

Job Description

As a security coordinator, you play an important role in the institution's systematic security work where you coordinate, plan, implement, and follow up on security efforts at the institution.

Your responsibilities include:

  • working operationally with security-related issues, for example, by conducting risk and security assessments
  • being responsible for coordinating the implementation and development of local routines, instructions, and action plans within the security area.
  • ensuring quality and coordinating incidents reported to the incident reporting system (ISAP) and assisting the institution's management with the current situation report.
  • coordinating the drug prevention work at the institution.
  • coordinating the institution's information security work.
  • being the contact person for intelligence information from the authority's national security department and with other authorities.
  • participating in introductions, training, and exercises within the security area.

As a security coordinator, you work closely with the Institution Manager and Security Manager but will also collaborate with the central security department and other security coordinators within the authority. With systematic approaches, pedagogy, and good collaboration skills, your primary task will be to increase security awareness among all employees. The goal is to ensure safe youth and staff in secure premises. The position is located in the institution's security department where you will share premises with friendly colleagues, but regular visits to the institution's departments and continuous contact with Unit Managers regarding security issues are included in the job responsibilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an education in the security field, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. You should have experience in security work and enjoy developing routines and working methods, preferably at the government level. Experience in handling incidents and serious events is a requirement. You should have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing and have practical experience in areas such as exercises, training, and risk and security assessments.

You have practical experience in areas such as exercises, training, and risk and security assessments. You also have good computer skills (Office package) and preferably experience working with databases. Some experience in technical physical security work, as well as experience working with compulsory care or detention, and experience working within SiS and the correctional system is an advantage.

As a person, you are responsible, creative, positive, and have a strong desire and ability to develop yourself and others. You are a problem solver who is structured and enjoys working both independently and in a team. You take great responsibility for your work and have good collaboration skills. Furthermore, you are analytical and pedagogical. We place high demands on your security and confidentiality awareness.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The position may become security classified.

A driver's license is required as travel is included in the position.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible by agreement.
