Region Mitt

Region Mitt operates in Uppland, Västmanland, Södermanland, Närke, and Värmland. The area of operations for Mälardalen Probation consists of probation offices in Uppsala, Västerås, Eskilstuna, and Nyköping. We are now seeking probation officers for the probation office located in Rättscentrum in central Uppsala, covering Uppland with 8 municipalities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is part of the Probation's control and preparedness organization. You will work in a team with other probation officers and closely collaborate with probation inspectors, decision support, and administrators. You will also be responsible, together with the team, for monitoring enforcement with electronic control through home visits and workplace visits of offenders serving community service.

Client work is included in the position, and you will participate in client visits at the probation office. The work also involves staffing the reception with security checks and other security-related tasks, such as urine tests.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your personal qualities are important. As a Probation Officer, you need to be secure, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you will drive the operations, so you need to have good collaboration skills and be clear in your communication. You should be able to act physically when required.

It is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in the potential for human development. You should also be aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally through your approach. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary education or other training combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Current work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not equivalent to employment.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
• Good computer skills.
• A B driver's license for manual transmission.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Current work experience in security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social services.
• Relevant language skills.
