IT Architect for Public Sector
Do you want to contribute to the digitalization of society and help shape the future IT solutions in the public sector? We are now looking for an IT architect who wants to take a central role in the development of sustainable, secure, and purposeful IT solutions that provide real societal benefits. With us, you will work closely with both operations and technology in a context where your architectural work truly makes a difference.
We work with what everyone takes for granted. The ability to communicate. With us, you will ensure that it works now and in the future. For everyone.
The position is located in the IT development unit, which is part of the business development department. The unit is responsible for the development and management of PTS IT systems, websites, and e-services, and coordinates the authority's strategic IT development.
The IT operations are currently undergoing a transformation with several ongoing and upcoming system implementations. In the coming years, there will also be an organizational change related to a planned merger of authorities, which means that the IT operations will grow and develop. In connection with this, both the role and organizational affiliation may change, and the position offers good opportunities to influence technology choices and working methods in the long term.
“I will be your manager, and my name is Paula Fagerlund. I believe in trust over control and that good solutions are created together. As a manager, I am clear about direction and expectations but give great room for personal responsibility, new ideas, and different perspectives. I appreciate when people dare to think innovatively, question established working methods, and find smarter ways to solve tasks. For me, leadership is something we do in everyday life, through dialogue, collaboration, and shared responsibility for the whole.”
About the Role
As an IT architect, you will be part of the architecture function and work closely with development teams, technical management leaders, and operations. The role involves both tactical and operational work focusing on information management, data flows, integrations, and AI, where usage in systems, analysis, and internal working methods are central. A large part of the work involves being a technical advisor in architecture and development issues and translating business needs and requirements into sustainable technical solutions.
In this role, you will collaborate with various functions and contribute to creating consensus and anchoring around architectural choices among both technical and non-technical target groups. You will lead and facilitate workshops with participants from both IT and operations and handle complex issues where solutions are not always obvious. The work requires you to take a holistic perspective and guide the organization in choices that are sustainable, secure, and purposeful in the long term.
About the Team
In the department, there are over 35 employees in roles such as project managers, system developers, architects, IT technicians, requirement analysts, technical management leaders, and business developers. The culture in the unit is unpretentious, solution-oriented, and based on collaboration and knowledge sharing – in small teams with broad roles.
About You
To succeed in this role, you are collaborative and have the ability to create win-win solutions with a focus on the common goal. You work analytically and with a holistic perspective, weighing in the needs of the business, the users' perspective, security aspects, and long-term consequences in your architectural choices. You have a good security awareness and understand how security aspects are considered in architecture and development work. You are communicative and can explain complex technical issues to different target groups in a pedagogical way. At the same time, you are solution-oriented and make well-founded decisions even in complex and somewhat unclear contexts.
For us, your personal qualities are important, and we will place great emphasis on these.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Completed post-secondary education or equivalent credits in IT (system development)
- Several years of work experience in roles such as solution architect, software architect, and senior developer
- Several years of work experience in data flow, information management, and analysis
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
It is also meritorious if you have:
- Practical experience of applied AI and generative AI
- Practical experience of container solutions, such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman
- Education, certification, or experience in information and IT security
Our Offer
We take life seriously. With us, you can have a life both at work and outside of it. If you are well, we are well. Therefore, we offer competitive salaries, flexible working hours, and the possibility of remote work. We also have generous wellness benefits and two wellness hours every week.
Additionally, you will receive favorable conditions for lunch, vacation, parental leave, pension, and in case of illness. Here you will work in modern activity-based premises at Hälsingegatan 38. As a government authority, we offer a safe and stable working environment where you can feel secure. We are creating tomorrow's society and must stay at the forefront. With us, you will continuously grow with your tasks.
Good to Know
The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period of six months. Placement in Stockholm with the start as soon as possible by agreement. Your job title will be IT Architect.
To ensure a fair and objective assessment of your qualifications, we ask you not to include a picture, personal identification number, or address in your CV. We have chosen not to request a cover letter as we instead use selection questions. This is to focus on your experience and competence, contributing to a more efficient and fair recruitment process.
